BoatSharp is an independent buyer-information publication. This page explains how we make money and how that is kept separate from what we conclude.
How we make money
Some links on BoatSharp are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may receive a commission from the merchant at no additional cost to you. Affiliate revenue is currently how this site is funded.
We do not own or operate any of the services we write about, and we are not paid to write individual articles or reviews.
Who we have relationships with
- Boat-Alert — paid boat history reports. Links to this merchant carry sponsored and nofollow attributes; the affiliate program is not yet live.
This list is the complete set. If it changes, this page changes with it, and the pages carrying the links carry a disclosure of their own near the top.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- A commercial relationship never determines a conclusion. We publish the limits of every product we earn from, in the same article that links to it.
- Where a free official route answers the question, we link to the free route — including on pages where a paid product would earn us money.

rel="sponsored nofollow"and open in a new tab, so they are identifiable to you and to search engines. - Commercial pages carry a plain-language disclosure above the article body, not buried.
- We do not rank by commission, and we do not fill a comparison table cell we have not verified.
- We do not use urgency, scarcity or pressure language in calls to action.
What our links cannot promise
No product we link to guarantees that a boat is safe, mechanically sound, lien-free or free of undisclosed history. A records search is a records search: it returns what the sources it searched contain. None of them replaces a marine survey and a sea trial.
Advertising and sponsorship
BoatSharp does not currently run display advertising, sponsored posts or paid placements. If that changes, any paid placement will be labelled as such on the page it appears on.
